Using Task Manager to Speedup your PC | Find and minimize programs that slow down your Computer

Windows Task Manager is a very useful tool in troubleshooting the programs that we use every day. 

And one of its most essential functions is you can use it to speed up your PC by finding programs or processes that eat up most of CPU speed and slow down your computer, and reduce the processor speed they are using. So no need to install any 3rd party software to do the job for you, mostly these software that are promising to speed up your PC aren’t that reliable, the reality is they are just hiding and also increase your CPU usage without you knowing it. 
Well then, let’s proceed to our tutorial .So in some cases you notice your PC is too slow than normal, then there might be a program that is eating up a huge slice of your CPU, and here’s a simple tutorial to crack it up: 
1. Open up your Task Manager, you can do so by right clicking on your windows taskbar then click on Start Task Manager, or press CTR + ALT + Del. 
2. Let’s see first if your CPU is overloaded as anticipated, click on Performance tab and observe the CPU usage meter on the left side, if you see that the bar is running almost full then we definitely do some action.



3. Let us now find the process (es) that are causing your system slow down. Click on Processes tab, then click on CPU. Now you should see the top processes that use your processor a lot. 


At this instant, you may decide to close that process (that is if you are certain that you are not using it) or just reduce its priority so that it will not use up all your CPU speed. And to do this, right click on the process > Set Priority > then if the current selection is above normal, high, or real time, change it to normal, but if the current selection is normal, change it to below normal. You can play with the values, just ensure to choose the lower priority than the present one.


4. If reducing the priority does not reduce the process' CPU usage, try closing the process and start it again, this works on most cases. 
5. That’s it. You can always do these steps if you are having problems like PC hang ups or lags.
